What is the Blue Screen of Death?
Answer: The Blue Screen of Death also know as BSOD.The BSOD is a critical error that causes your computer to shut down in order to prevent damage to you system.
Blue Screens are normally found on Windows operating systems.
Some of the causes of the Blue Screen of Death: bad device drivers (software used to control your hardware devices on your computer) or the hardware itself is not working correctly.
I don't know about everyone else, but I have found the 2 most common culprits that cause the BSOD are a malfunctioning hard drive or motherboard.
Of course there are other causes such as bad memory chips, power supplies, hardware components that are running too hot and more.
You might ask if it is possible for any computer user to figure out what might be causing the BSOD.
Yes it is possible to decipher the Blue Screen error messages…
But, this may be a situation where you will need to get a computer technician to help.
There are several possible error messages that may be displayed on the BSOD.
If you have another computer available, you may want to jot down the error messages, then try Goggling for an answer before calling your technician.
And it is possible that you may be able to fix it yourself once you locate an answer on Google.
For example, if you have recently installed new hardware and you get an error message that says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, you most likely have a problem with the new hardware or the software (driver) that controls the new hardware.
Once the hardware is un-installed the BSOD will probably go way.
You may have to restart your computer in safe mode when you un-install the problem hardware.
