Is Microsoft Still Pursuing Yahoo?
A Rumor appeared in the Times of London recently that Microsoft may still be trying to take over Yahoo.
Yahoo is number 2 to Google in the Search engine business.
The rumor is that Microsoft and a partner are trying to come up with 10 billion to buy 30 percent of Yahoo.
An attempt earlier by Microsoft to take over Yahoo fell apart and now the price of Yahoo stock has plunged.
If this purchase of Yahoo could be pulled off, Microsoft would take over the management of Yahoo and according to the London Times rumor they would have an option to buy all of Yahoo.
Of course everyone is denying this rumor…
But, If I recall everyone denied Microsoft was trying to take over Yahoo the first time.
Microsoft is chomping at the bit to gain a bigger share of the search engine market and Microsoft Live Search has not made any significant increases in its share of the search engine business.
The quickest road to success in the search engine market for Microsoft is to purchase the financially wounded Yahoo.
