Thanks to Our Veterans
I just want to take a moment to thank all of our veterans and current members of our armed forces for their service.
It is because of their sacrifices that we enjoy our freedoms.
I am sitting here at my computer today working at a business that I had the freedom to start because of all of the sacrifices that those who have served our county so well have made.
So on this veterans day please take a moment to remember the men and women of our armed forces who have served so well.
I know that this is a bit off the topic of what we will normally be discussing here at Red Zone Computers, but I can’t think of a better first blog posting.
My good friend and business mentor, Colin McDougall dedicated space on his blog today to recognize all veterans as it is Veterans day in the US and Remembrance day in Canada.
Go to his blog and check out his recognition of his grandfather Captain Colin McDougall who was the first Canadian to enter the streets France on the day it was liberated by Allied Forces.
If you have a veteran that you would like to acknowledge, you can post a comment on his Constant Conversation blog. You can share your story there.
All this computer stuff is pretty cool huh?
Just think about it, I can post information about my father’s military service on my Canadian friend’s blog and even see pictures and hear old radio commentary about the experiences of his grandfather.
I posted a thank you to my Dad who showed me how to use my first personal computer, a Commodore Vic 20, that he bought for me after I graduated from college in the early 80′s.
Sharing all this information with Colin and others around the world is something would never of dreamed of when I first started fooling around with that simple Vic 20 computer years ago.
One of our goals here in the RED ZONE is to stay on top of the trends and the impact of computers have on our daily lives, business activities and culture.
Computers have definitely changed how we do everything.
Thanks Vets!
